The Final Countdown

Well, We "seem" to be getting it together. We have had three "preview" services. Learned something from everyone. Trying to create something meaningful but feel like we don't have a road map. We are trying to re-ask the question, "What is church anyway?" What things do and don't count as "church". We like the set-up (Tables), the vibe (relaxed), the music (secular with spiritual themes). People talk to each other at their tables because we believe that God wants us to connect to each other. We have quite prayer time because we believe that God wants us to connect to God. We have a service piece right in the service because we believe that is putting hands and feet to prayer. So far, so good. The people that have come so far have done a lot of good. Lots of meals for lots of people. That has been pretty cool. The message is short (10-12 minutes) because I think the wisdom in the room doesn't always just come from the person with the mic. Who knows if we are getting this even close to right, but we know what has been called church isn't workin' for a LOT of people. We have our public launch Jan. 4th @ 5:00 pm. Check out our website www.afterhourschurch.com we have services at St. Andrew UMC 3550 White Bay Drive in Highlands Ranch (don't be scared of the suburbs...just keep your doors locked and be aware of your surroundings..) :) Hope to see you.
